EVENT OF THE HEARTS
The PRO-HORSE EVENT, which is unique in Europe, will take place for the sixth time at the CHIO Aachen show grounds from the 30.-31.07.2022. The MUSTANG MAKEOVER aims to draw attention to the difficult situation of the American Mustangs and to impart diverse, valuable knowledge about horses.
It all started with the purchase of our own Mustang Blackjack back in 2016, our attention has been called to the Mustangs from then on. Our goal was to raise the attention towards those amazing animals, as Blackjack has shown us their sensational spirit, coolness and courage.
Therefore, our idea was to create an event, inspired by the Extreme Mustang Makeover, with basically untrained Mustangs, which then will be prepared by different trainers and presented in challenges and a final show. It is heartwarming to see all of the great improvements and developments, not only the Mustangs, but also the trainers are going through.
Even though, all trainers work differently, the aim they are all working towards is, to present a safe, confident and well-rounded horse, that will be an awesome partner to their new owner. We want the trainers and "their" Mustangs to work together in harmony and trust, as this is part of the judgement in the challenges and the finale.
Emotional, moving and heartwarming - MUSTANG MAKEOVER GERMANY
Probably the most emotional moment is during the auction, it is like a flood of tears, from trainers, friends or the new owners. As the trainers have worked with the Mustangs for several months, their bond is quite strong and it is hard to let them go, however sometimes, they just listen to their heart and decide to buy the Mustang in advance, so it can stay with them.
We have also had moments, where the mentor has bought the horse for the trainer during the auction or beforehand. The MUSTANG MAKEOVER not only provides emotion, but knowledge as well. Different trainers present their approaches in clinics and demonstrations; therefore, the event offers something for every interest.
It is good to look into different approaches because you can find inspiration for own work with horses and try out other methods that might work as well. Of course, not every method works for every horse, but that is why we have such a variety in our event.
The MUSTANG MAKEOVER not only provides emotion, but knowledge as well.
